Of all the pressing environmental concerns in this country, the Green Party leader decides to take on your Internet connection.

The Green Party's leader and lone MP, Elizabeth May, has decided to take up the thoroughly debunked plight against the dastardly evil that is wireless Internet. May took to Twitter last night to express her concern about the electromagnetic frequencies emitted WiFi transmitters, pointing to a recent World Health Organization survey that determined EMFs could be (note that all-important “could”) carcinogenic. She said she was worried over children's exposure to WiFi in classrooms and said she was happy to live in a WiFi-free house. This, of course, prompted a massive backlash from her Twitter followers last night (and well into this morning) who derided her for her alarmism over WiFi, which has never been conclusively proven to cause even the smallest of physical harm to people (except for maybe the extra pounds put on by being able to use your laptop in bed, but that's a different story).
