Ontario's Green Energy Act will be one of the biggest issues in the upcoming election.

With every industrial wind project hoisted onto Ontario's landscape come dozens of signs calling for its removal. Outraged critics charge that Ontario's Green Energy and Green Economy Act has curtailed the rights of local residents in favour of billion-dollar deals with the likes of Samsung.

The Opposition says the Liberals are wasting millions on cushy subsidies. Communities complain that concerns over health effects, property values, and environmental degradation have been overlooked.

At the same time, the Liberals are quick to note that the Act has created 20,000 jobs to date, and will add another 30,000 over the next year. Supporters laud the landmark legislation for making the province a world leader in renewable energy. The Act enables North America's first guaranteed pricing structure for renewable-electricity production by employing a Feed-in Tariff (FIT) that guarantees a premium and stable price for the production of clean energy.

In this short documentary, The Mark talks to the experts about how the Green Energy Act has come under attack and why it should be one of the biggest issues in the upcoming election.
