NFL Owners Pass New Deal, Await Players' Verdict

The lockout could be over before the weekend if the NFL Players' Association finds the deal to their liking.
The club owners of the National Football League voted unanimously to support a new collective bargaining agreement, leaving the players' union to decide today whether or not it's time to play ball. NFL players have been locked out since March, but talks have gradually worked toward an agreement that satisfies both sides. Player representatives, such as Super Bowl MVP and Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, have suggested they'll take their time reviewing anything offered by the owners, so by no means will the lockout end with any certainty today. So long as the sides agree to a deal before the regular season, though, we'll all forget that this ever happened and gladly take pleasure in grown men attempting to concuss one another for millions of dollars every Sunday.
