Some study gives the Centre of the Universe another way to make it insufferable to the rest of the country.
A week after being named the most expensive city in Canada, Toronto can now lay claim to having the hottest economy of all major metropolitan areas in the country, too. A study found that Toronto's hot job market, steady population growth, insane real estate market, and low bankruptcy rates make it the best place in the country to do business, while Kitchener, Winnipeg (yes, Winnipeg), resource-rich Regina, and Montreal rounded out the five strongest economies. Vancouver placed seventh, Ottawa nabbed ninth, and Calgary claimed 15th, while Saguenay, Que., brings up the rear at 25th, but that's cool. Someone had to come last, right?
