Google+ Could Have 20M Users By Weekend

One study says the new social network is growing faster than Facebook ever did, but it's still nowhere close to Zuckerberg's 750 million.

Google+ could net as many as 20 million users by this weekend, a not-too-shabby number for a network barely two weeks old. Since June 28th, it's been growing at a pace of more than a million new users per day, which apparently is more than Facebook attracted during its fastest-growth period in 2009. Granted, Google+ still has a long, long way to go before it catches up to Facebook's 750 million or so users, but make no mistake, the battle is on. Just last week, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that the network was integrating Skype video-chat technology into its platform, just as Google+ was earning raves for its group teleconferencing application.
