Church plans to review whether gay priests in civil partnerships should be allowed to become bishops.
According to newspaper reports on Saturday, the Church of England plans to review its approach to same-sex relationships of clergy. Right Reverend Graham James, the Bishop of Norwich in eastern England, said bishops now recognize they have a responsibility to discuss and clarify their position on gay partnerships, an issue that has threatened to tear apart the Anglican community. The Times newspaper says the review would take place next year, followed by a year-long consultation.
