Sure, it's a nice flag, but we're fine with the plain ol' Maple Leaf, thank you very much.
A new flag will rise over wherever Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, stay during their tour of Canada, set to begin in Ottawa tomorrow. The flag features a “W” for William (and the House of Windsor) in the middle, surrounded by symbols representing France, Ireland, Scotland, and England, whose settlers largely founded Canada (or stole it from the natives living here already, but whatever). It is quite the striking flag, but a little busy, if you ask us. It's the first time since 1962, when Queen Elizabeth II visited, that a Canadian flag has been made for a member of the Royal Family, as the Canadian Heraldic Authority apparently deemed the hapless Prince Charles unworthy of his own colours.
