Dabangg Wins Big at Indian Film Awards

The event, which was held this year in Toronto, typically draws 600 million viewers.

The Bollywood action flick, "Dabangg," dominated the International Indian Academy Awards in Toronto on Saturday. The film won six major prizes, including the much-desired best picture award. "My Name is Khan" was another major winner, picking up four trophies, including for its direction, story, lyrics and male lead actor, Shah Rukh Khan. The awards ceremony, which usually attracts 600 million viewers, featured numerous colourful dance performances and comedy skits. Academy Award winners Hilary Swank and Cuba Gooding Jr. were on hand to present awards and Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty made appearances throughout the evening.
