Chinese dissident Hu Jia Released from Jail

Hu Jia was initially arrested for speaking out against the human rights issue in China in 2007.
Prominent Chinese dissident Hu Jia was released from prison on Sunday. After completing a three and a half year sentence for "inciting subversion", Mr. Hu was finally allowed home. His wife, Zeng Jinyan, a prominent blogger, tweeted, "(He's) safe, very happy. Need to rest for some time. Thank you everyone." Still there remains heavy police presence outside his home and he could be under some sort of long-term house arrest. Mr. Hu was originally arrested for speaking out against the human rights situation in China at the European Parliament in 2007 during which he criticized the decision to hold the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.
