LulzSec Announces Break-Up

  • First Posted: Jun 26 2011 09:09 AM

The hacking group was responsible for cyber-attacking big wigs like Nintendo and the U.S. Senate.

LulzSec Security, a hacking group that's attacked several high-profile websites such as Sony and the CIA, announced its disbandment on Saturday. The announcement was made via the file-sharing website, The Pirate Bay, and said that its "planned 50-day cruise has expired". Their "crew of six" remain anonymous, so it's impossible to confirm the validity of the statement. Insiders say the group could be nervous due to recent police investigations linked to the group. As a parting gift of sorts, the group released a series of documents that look to be confidential material taken from the Arizona police department and telecommunications giant, AT&T.
