The attack is the second in as many days that's targeted Afghan civilians.
A deadly car bomb hit a hit a hospital in Afghanistan's eastern Logar province on Saturday. It was reported that 35 people were killed and at least two dozen more were injured. Much of the damage from the attack was concentrated the maternity ward, with many women and children among the dead and wounded. The head of the U.N. Assistance Mission in Afghanistan said assaults on hospitals "are strictly prohibited under international humanitarian law." The Logar attack comes a day after a bomb attack in the northern province of Kunduz that killed at least 10 civilians. Both strikes occurred just days after President Barack Obama outlined a plan to withdraw 30,000 troops from the country by September 2012.
