Israel says it won't let any ship through the Gazan blockade, a year after nine activists were killed trying to do just that.

Thirty-two Canadians have flown to Greece to join a flotilla that intends to sail to the Gaza Strip to deliver aid, despite warnings from Israel that it will intercept the vessels if they attempt to break the blockade of the Palestinian territory. The flotilla comes a year after a Turkish-helmed flotilla to Gaza was met by Israeli commandos, an incident that quickly escalated into a firefight that led to the deaths of nine activists aboard the ship. The new flotilla of 10 ships is set to sail later this week, and its organizers say it will be carrying mostly medical aid. The Israeli navy has made it very clear this week that it will prevent any ships from breaching the blockade.
