At this rate, we can hope Avril Lavigne will be headlining at the MGM Grand in 10 years.
Shania Twain is set to join fellow Canadian cultural exports Celine Dion and Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas, after inking a two-year-deal to perform at Caesar's Palace. Starting next year, Twain will perform 60 shows a year at the new gig, which marks a return to music for the countrified pop star who hasn't released an album since 2002's Up!. Twain, the second-best-selling female artist in Canadian history (behind Mme. Dion), recently revealed in an autobiography that she was abused as a child growing up impoverished in Timmins, Ont., and dealt with depression after divorcing her husband/producer Mutt Lange.
