Tribal forces' shelling allegedly hit the presidential palace, injuring Saleh and others in his inner circle.
The president of Yemen, Ali Abdullah Saleh, is believed to have been injured in an attack in the capital of Sanaa as street violence in the Mideast country escalates. Saleh, along with Yemen's prime minister, was hurt in the shelling of the presidential palace, and four palace guards and the speaker of the house are reported to be in critical condition. Various Yemeni tribal groups have banded together against the Saleh regime, which has been in power for 33 years. Bloody anti-government protests have rocked Yemen in recent months, while various tribes have gradually united against the oppressive regime. Saleh has refused calls from nearly every head of state in the region to step down as battles rage throughout Sanaa.
