The twister has already killed 89 people in Joplin, and the number of fatalities is expected to rise.

A Sunday night tornado has left "complete devastation" in Joplin, Missouri, where it tore down houses and businesses and killed at least eighty-nine people. The number of fatalities is expected to rise as it's believed people are still trapped in their houses as of Monday morning. About a quarter of the city's buildings has suffered significant damage, including one of its two hospitals. Further complicating the disaster were fires caused by broken natural gas pipe lines. President Barack Obama issued a statement Sunday night giving his condolences to the families who suffered loss from the disaster.
