Parliament threatens U.S. with sanctions, demands end to drone attacks.
Pakistan has condemned the U.S. for its raid on Osama bin Laden's Pakistani compound, in a sign of a growing rift between the two countries that once appeared to be allies in the war on terrorism. A joint session of Pakistan's parliament on Saturday requested the end of U.S. drone attacks along the country's border region and also for a review of its working agreement with the U.S. Pakistan is threatening to cease allowing supplies to NATO troops in Afghanistan to transit through Pakistan if the U.S. continues the unilateral drone attacks. Pakistani officials say the attacks have killed 30,000 Pakistani civilians and more than 5,000 military personnel.
