Ezra Levant Wins National Business Book Award

The Sun News host's book on Canada's 'ethical' oil industry lands him $20,000.

Ezra Levant can now (and surely will) add “award-winning author” to his accomplishments after netting the $20,000 National Business Book Award for his treatise on Canada's oil industry, Ethical Oil: A Case for Canada's Oil Sands. Levant, a commentator for Sun News Network who founded the Western Standard magazine, argues in the book that the oil sands are a more “ethical” option than oil from the Middle East, Africa, or South America because of Canada's stronger environmental regulations, democractic government, press freedoms, and human rights' record. The panel of judges who selected Levant's book included Roger Martin, head of the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management, and Peter Mansbridge of the CBC, a frequent (and on some days what seems like only) target of Levant and his colleagues at Sun News.
