Four RCMP officers are accused of lying under oath about the final minutes of Robert Dziekanksi's life.
The four RCMP officers at the centre of the inquiry into the Tasering death of Polish immigrant Robert Dziekanski in 2007 have now been officially charged with perjury. The lead prosecutor in the Braidwood Inquiry recommended last week that charges be pressed against Const. Kwesi Millington, Cpl. Benjamin Robinson, Const. Bill Bentley, and Const. Gerry Rundel for allegedly lying during their testimony. B.C.'s deputy attorney general agreed with the charges, and the four were then charged with perjury. The quartet of Mounties are to appear in court on June 29. Dziekanski's mother, Zofia Cisowki, has long been urging charges to be laid against officers involved in her son's death.
