The rascally co-creators of South Park have dominated Broadway with their take-no-prisoners musical on Mormons.
The Book of Mormon, a Broadway musical penned by South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker, has garnered the most Tony Award nominations of any production this year with 14. The musical is a foul-mouthed (and reportedly gut-bustingly hilarious) satire that follows two Mormon missionaries on a trip to spread the gospel of Joseph Smith to Africa. If it wins more than 12 awards, it would surpass The Producers for garnering the most Tony Awards of any theatrical production of all time. Stone and Parker, who also directed Team America: World Police and BASEketball (it's great, we swear), now stand to add to their four Emmy awards and one Oscar nomination.
