Police are searching for a man who allegedly walked off with a ballot box in Central Nova.
Police in the riding of Central Nova are searching for a man who allegedly walked off with a ballot box during Monday's election. New Glasgow, N.S., police told The Canadian Press that a man entered a polling station around 6 p.m. and walked off with a ballot box, before an elections officer found the suspect outside, stomping on the ballot box. The box was returned to the polling station roughed up but intact. Police say none of the ballots were destroyed, and the investigation is ongoing. The riding of Central Nova is held by Peter MacKay, the defence minister.
