Two out of Five Canadians to Watch Royal Wedding

But that's less interest than was showed for the leaders' debates two weeks ago.

Forty per cent of Canadians intend to tune in to the wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton on Friday, despite the fact that the nuptials will be taking place before the sun comes up in most of the country. However, that proportion is lower than the 51 per cent who, a few weeks back, said they were likely watch the federal leaders' debates, suggesting that perhaps the royal wedding hasn't entirely trumped federal politics this month. The breakdown of those who said they'd watch the ceremony and the procession from Westminster Abbey to Buckingham Palace skewed very heavily toward women over the age of 50, with just six per cent of people between the ages of 18 and 34 expected to watch.
