Syrian security forces opened fire on people mourning slain protesters on Saturday.

Heightened tensions continue to run high in Syria after security forces reportedly opened fire on those mourning slain protesters on Saturday, killing at least 10 people. Meanwhile, Syria's Interior Ministry is reporting that 38 officers were injured in clashes with armed groups on Saturday. The accusations couldn't have come at a worse time, as the public's discontent with President Bashar al-Assad's regime continues to grow. Syrians have staged anti-government protests for weeks after a violent crackdown by security forces on peaceful demonstrators protesting the arrests of youths who scribbled anti-government graffiti.
