iPhone 4 Tracks User's Location

British researchers uncovered a startling tidbit about the iPhone 4 – for some reason, it logs its owner's every movement.

Apple employees must have been listening to The Police when making the iPhone 4 – the smartphone was found by British researchers to be secretly tracking every move its owners make. The popular gadget makes a log of its user's location, and although that data stays on the phone, critics are concerned that hackers could easily exploit it because it is unencrypted and accessible from any computer synced with the iPhone. The revelation prompted Michael Geist, a Canadian digital law expert, to ask Privacy Commissioner Jennifer Stoddart to investigate why the tech giant installed the tracking software without informing customers. Apple has yet to comment.
