Another Teen Tossed from Harper Event

A University of Guelph student says she was barred from a Conservative rally because of her involvement in environmental causes.

Like anyone who wants to attend a Conservative campaign rally, Joanna MacDonald said she filled out the online pre-registration form that included her name, address, and email. When she arrived at the event in Guelph Monday, she was reportedly turned away and one organizer told her she was likely barred because of her affiliation with environmental activists. MacDonald’s story comes on the heels of two London teens reportedly being asked to leave a Tory event because they had pictures of themselves with Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff on their Facebook pages. The allegations have led to criticism that Harper’s campaign team is unnecessarily delving into the lives of event attendees and denying Canadians of differing political stripes access to the prime minister.
