A page called the 'Third Palestinian Intifada' was calling for an uprising against Israel.
Facebook was originally reluctant to take down the page, citing freedom of expression issues and saying the page was merely calling for peaceful protest. But as the page’s membership grew to 350,000, Facebook’s public policy communications director, Andrew Noyes, said comments posted to the site deteriorated into calls for violence against Israelis and Jews, and the company decided to take it down. Israeli Cabinet Minister Yuli Edelstein, who appealed directly to Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg to delete the page, applauded the decision Tuesday but warned that "more cat-and-mouse games await us and there will be attempts by our enemies and those who hate us to enter Facebook in other ways.”
