Two U.S. Servicemen Shot Dead At Frankfurt Airport

A 21-year-old man from Kosovo is in custody in connection with the attack.

Witnesses say the man began talking to U.S. servicemen as their bus was parked outside of the Frankfurt airport terminal and then pulled out a gun and began shooting, killing two military personnel before fleeing into the terminal where he was apprehended by German federal police. U.S. and German investigators are looking into the attack, but it is unclear as yet whether the man believed to be the attacker, a Kosovan named Arid Uka, has any links to terrorist groups. Plots to attack U.S. soldiers on German military bases have been uncovered in the past, and U.S. intelligence officials warned last fall that terrorist groups were planning to execute “single shooter” attacks in Germany.
