Ambassador to the UN says his ability to laugh “while he is slaughtering his own people underscores how disconnected he is from reality.”

If there was any doubt that the man who still has control of much of the Libyan military is dangerously unhinged, his latest round of interviews confirmed it. Speaking with the BBC and ABC, Moammar Gadhafi laughed at the suggestion he would leave Libya and asserted "my people love me," despite the huge uprising against him that has engulfed most of the country. He continues to claim those against him have been drugged by al Qaeda. U.S. Ambassador to the UN Susan Rice said Monday Gadhafi is clearly “delusional” and “unfit to lead,” and confirmed reports that Washington is reaching out to opposition forces in Libya. She said suggestions of military aid to the rebels were premature.
