Pint-sized soul singer Heather Russell's songs became a Youtube sensation.

Hang on kid, it’s going to be a bumpy ride. Russell is bound for pre-teen fame after former American Idol judge and Syco Records chief Simon Cowell signed her to a record deal last month. Her first album is already in the works and will be out later this year. Russell has been writing songs that showcase her Joplin-esque voice since she was three and one she posted on the internet two years ago went viral. The video found its way into the inbox of Lady Gaga producer Rob Fusari, who traveled to Toronto days later to meet with the diminutive diva and her family. Fusari introduced her to Cowell and the rest, they hope, is history.
