Canadians have been outraged at news that a B.C. dog sledding company shot and slashed 100 dogs to death after business slowed down.
There are, apparently, some people out there who think the lives of 100 dogs are roughly worth the life of one man. The RCMP is investigating death threats sent via email after news broke that last April a B.C. tour operator had 100 huskies executed because they became too expensive to keep. Bookings at Howling Dog Tours had reportedly dried up following the Winter Olympics in Whistler. The RCMP would not disclose who was the target of the threats, but said they are taking the matter seriously. The news of the cull came to light when a 38-year-old man filed a worker’s compensation complaint with WorkSafe BC. He claimed to be suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder after killing so many dogs.
