The National Democratic Party's Cairo headquarters has been set ablaze by protesters.
As darkness fell on Cairo Friday, the National Democratic Party headquarters were burning fiercely with no security officials or firefighters in sight. There are fears the fire could spread to the national museum, which is directly adjacent to the government building and holds many of the greatest archeological artifacts from pharaonic Egypt. Al Jazeera has a live feed from outside the headquarters. Citizens are defying a nighttime curfew in Cairo, Alexandria, and Suez. Police have left the streets and the army has been called in. President Hosni Mubarak is rumoured to address the nation Friday night.
