Alec Baldwin Tipped to Replace Olberman

Rumour has it that MSNBC is looking to replace its former top draw with the left-leaning actor.

He might have to run it by Liz Lemon first of course, but after Countdown host Keith Olberman abruptly quit last week, the man who plays Jack Donaghy on 30 Rock is said to be at the top of MSNBC’s wish list to replace him. Olberman, who provided a liberal counterpart to pundits like Bill O’Reilly, was MSNBC’s biggest star, but Baldwin is an even bigger name. The actor has been vocal about his leftist political views over the years, and has said in recent interviews that he has strongly considered entering politics. He’s already on the NBC payroll at 30 Rock, making a move to MSNBC a somewhat natural fit.
