Super Bowl Pits Packers Against Steelers

  • First Posted: Jan 24 2011 08:15 AM

Two of the NFL’s most storied franchises will square off in the big game on Feb. 6.

The Pittsburgh Steelers, the Green Bay Packers, and 100,000 rabid fans. Those will be the key players in Super Bowl XLV in Arlington, TX. The Steelers fought off a late comeback bid from the New York Jets to win the AFC Championship 24-19 Sunday, while the Packers booked their ticket with a 21-14 victory over the Chicago Bears for the NFC title. The Bears had a rough night. They had to call in their third-string quarterback Caleb Hanie, after star QB Jay Cutler left with a knee injury and his initial replacement Todd Collins looked shaky. Analysts say that this year’s Super Bowl tickets could be the hardest to get in the history of the game, as both teams boast extremely dedicated fan bases.
