Kory Teneycke Returns to Sun TV

  • First Posted: Jan 06 2011 09:03 AM

The former spokesman for Stephen Harper quit the right-wing news venture last September after a series of controversies.

He’s baaack. When Sun TV (or “Fox News North” to its critics) launches in March, the man considered the channel’s ideological guru will be at its helm. Teneycke is known for courting controversy but admitted he went too far last year when Sun TV was applying for a licence from the CRTC. After issuing several provocative statements against what he called Canada’s “lame-stream media,” it was rumoured that he was involved in attempts to sabotage an anti-Sun online petition, leading to his abrupt resignation in September. The Globe and Mail is reporting that Teneycke, who helped craft the Conservatives’ election message in 2008, will resume working at the network next week.
