Tracy Morgan Undergoes Kidney Transplant

The 30 Rock star is recovering well but will miss several episodes of the show.

The lovably disturbed comedian was diagnosed with diabetes in 1996 and has said he didn’t take the disease seriously until doctors told him they might have to amputate his foot. Ever since he’s been more conscious of his condition but complications from the disease led to a kidney transplant sometime around Dec. 10. He was well enough to be seen at the New York Knicks game last Friday but the producers of 30 Rock said he will miss a few episodes of the NBC comedy and won’t be back at work until after the holidays. Earlier this year Grizz Chapman, who plays a member of Tracy Jordan’s entourage on the show, underwent the same surgery.
