Rev. Charles McVety said that Toronto’s Pride Parade promoted sex with minors and that school curricula were teaching boys and girls to become gay.
Rev. McVety hosts Word TV on the CTS network and is one of Canada’s most popular evangelists. His show has now been temporarily pulled from the air after the Canadian Standards Broadcast Council found him in violation of ethics standards. A few of his controversial bits of rhetoric included saying that gays’ “insatiable appetite for sex, especially with young people” was behind a new Ontario sex-ed curriculum that presented homosexuality in a favourable light, and claiming that by hosting the Pride Parade Toronto was branding itself as a "sex tourism destination ... with full opportunity for sex with hot boys."
