Harper Fronts Rock Band at Tory Christmas Party

  • First Posted: Dec 09 2010 07:51 AM

The prime minister got positively jiggy with it Wednesday night in Ottawa.

Say what you want about Stephen Harper, charisma has never been his strong suit. But he did his best impression of a rock star Wednesday night at the Conservative caucus Christmas party, taking to the stage to belt out a few classic tunes. His set began with a rendition of Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline” and included a brief tribute to John Lennon, who died 30 years ago last night. The proceedings were marred when Harper forced the guitar player to resign after flubbing the C chord in “Jumpin’ Jack Flash.” Not really, but if you’d like to see the man who runs the country pretend to be a lounge singer at the airport Ramada, check out this video.
