NASA to Announce Alien Life on Earth?

Speculation is rampant over a press conference the space agency has called for Thursday afternoon.
NASA says it will make an important announcement Thursday on “an astrobiology finding that will impact the search for evidence of extraterrestrial life.” Scientists scheduled to speak include a researcher who has spent several years investigating microbes in California’s Mono Lake that appear to thrive on arsenic, a substance thought to be poisonous to all known life forms. Some speculate that NASA will announce a “second genesis” on Earth in which extraterrestrial microbes colonized the planet and developed independent of earthling life. The announcement could be less spectacular than that however; the existence of the microbes in the hostile conditions of Mono Lake may simply prove that it's possible that life can theoretically survive on planets previously thought uninhabitable.
