Person of Interest in Hollywood Publicist’s Death Kills Himself

A man who police believe was linked to the death of Ronni Chasen shot himself as detectives attempted to question him.

Detectives confronted the man in the lobby of a low-rent apartment building in Beverly Hills yesterday, and as they attempted to interview him he pulled out a handgun and shot himself. Police stopped short of calling him a suspect in the shooting death of Chasen, the well known Hollywood publicist who was murdered while driving home from the premiere of Burlesque on Nov. 16. Yesterday news outlets reported that ballistics reports from the shooting indicated Chasen’s killer was likely a professional hitman. Police said that the man’s suicide will not halt their investigation, and it’s believed there were other people involved.
