U.S. Man Arrested for Threatening to Kill Obama

Michael Stephen Bowden told a nurse at a Veterans Affairs clinic that he was considering shooting the president.

Bowden, 78, is a retired New York City police officer now living in South Carolina. A local TV station is reporting that he was arrested earlier this month after telling his nurse he was thinking about killing Barack Obama. The Secret Service said a rifle was found under his bed and a dozen other firearms were also in his house. Bowden served four years in the U.S. navy and was also a fire captain in New York. It’s believed he is suicidal, and will undergo a psychiatric evaluation.
