Palin Confirms Presidential Hopes

In announcement that came as no surprise to most political observers, Sarah Palin said that she is strongly considering a presidential bid. She told reporters she is “having that discussion with my family,” but admits she will face some hurdles other candidates will not. As vice-presidential candidate in 2008 she had a disastrous campaign that exposed her inexperience, and she has been out of political office since she resigned as Alaska governor last year with two years left in her term. Polls show there is support for her making a go of it in 2012. Mitt Romney remains the frontrunner with 19 per cent support among Republicans, and Palin and Mike Huckabee are tied at 16 per cent.
