Authorities say they’ve been warned of an attack planned for the end of November.
Germany is increasing security at airports and railway stations, and government officials say heightened security measures will remain in place until further notice. The country’s Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere said intelligence officials received a tip from an unnamed country that Islamist terrorist groups have launched sustained efforts to carry out attacks there this month. Last year twelve German residents traveled to Pakistan, where it is believed they underwent training in militant camps. Last month officials warned the men were planning to return and carry out attacks in Germany. The men were the target of a U.S. drone strike in October that is believed to have killed at least one of them.
