In supporting several Republicans who won elections in key districts on Tuesday, “Mama Grizzly” could be laying the groundwork for a 2012 campaign.

About 50 of the candidates Sarah Palin endorsed in Tuesday’s midterms won election, and if she joins the Republican presidential primaries in 2012, they will owe her big time. In New Hampshire, which holds the country’s first, tone-setting primary, Palin-backed Kelly Ayotte just became senator. South Carolina’s new governor Nikki Haley also owes her a favour. Analysts say Palin’s wracking up political support across the country in order to prove to establishment Republicans that she has the clout to make a successful run at the White House. She has yet to say if she’ll run, but until 2012 she’ll keep herself in the limelight by starring in a reality TV show called Sarah Palin’s Alaska
