And you thought Canada’s census was invasive.
Many Chinese families are wishing some one like Tony Clement could give them a hand in avoiding the invasiveness of their country’s census process. Around 6.5 million census-takers have been deployed across China and many are being turned away or ignored as families who have violated the one-child policy or have rapidly rising incomes are wary of being discovered. The government plans to call on 400 million homes within the next ten days in order to better plan for China’s development, which continues to accelerate rapidly. The last census, conducted in 2000, found the country had 1.29 billion people.
