Toxic substance mailed to congressman

Rep. Raul Grijalva has been at the centre of Arizona’s heated debate over immigration.
The FBI is investigating after a package sent to Grijalva’s Tucson office yesterday was found to contain drawings of swastikas and a toxic white powder. Grijalva was not in his office when the package arrived and none of his staff have reported health problems. This is not the first incident of intimidation the Democratic congressman has faced: he closed two offices in April after being threatened over his stance on immigration and in July a bullet was fired through his office in Yuma, AZ. Grijalva, a Latino-American, has been a staunch opponent of state legislation that allows police to detain anyone they believe might be an illegal immigrant. In April, he called for national organizations to boycott Arizona because of the law.
