Col. Williams videotaped murders

A lawyer for the former commander of CFB Trenton told a court yesterday that he will plead guilty on all counts.

Videotapes of two murders and sexual assaults are among the damning evidence that police have against Col. Russell Williams, the 47-year-old career military man whose arrest earlier this year rocked the Canadian Armed Forces. Williams provided a full confession to police on February 7, the same day that authorities found hundreds of items of women’s underwear stored, catalogued, and concealed in the rafters of his garage. Williams stole the clothing in the course of 82 home invasions. Aside from videotaping large portions of the torture and murder of Marie-France Comeau and Jessica Lloyd, he also kept details of his crimes on a computer spreadsheet. He will formally enter his guilty plea on Oct. 18.
