After a 13-year break, the band’s partnered with the video game for its latest release.

Apparently the days when bands had to tour extensively, push their singles to radio, and do countless interviews to promote their records are over. All you have to do now is turn your album into a video game. Soundgarden’s Telephantasm was released earlier this week as part of Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock, and it’s already been certified platinum based on the number of games sold. Most of the kids playing the game are too young to remember Soundgarden’s role in the grunge revolution of the 1990s, but the band seems to have successfully gauged youngsters’ passion for coloured lights and staying indoors.
