James William Heselden was riding one of his scooters when he fell off a cliff and into a river.
Police were called to a town near Leeds, U.K. after reports that a man had fallen into the River Wharfe. They now confirm that the man was Heselden, the British millionaire who bought the Segway company last year. He was pronounced dead at the scene. It's believed Heselden was either using the scooter to inspect his property, or was testing a new off-road version of the vehicle, when he slipped and fell into the water. A week ago he was ranked as one of the country's top philanthropists after donating $16 million to charity.
