A 15-year-old girl was killed this weekend while walking through Mackie Park.

Police in Delta, B.C. are looking for a man who was seen walking out of the park shortly after Laura Szendrei was attacked there at around 1:00 pm on Saturday. Students regularly use the park as a shortcut, and last weekend some teenagers, including Szendrei, were attacked with Mace while walking through the wooded area. Police are unsure whether or not the murder was a targeted attack. There is no indication Szendrei was sexually assaulted, and while police wouldn’t reveal how she died there are reports that she was attacked with a baseball bat. She died Sunday morning of her injuries.
