The iconic fashion designer took his own life seven months ago.
Naomi Campbell, Sarah Jessica Parker, Bjork, and Anna Wintour were among the celebrities that thronged London’s St. Paul’s Cathedral yesterday to pay tribute to late fashion designer Alexander McQueen. He hung himself in February at the age of forty, nine days after his mother died of cancer. Throughout his career McQueen made clothes for everyone from Mikhail Gorbachev to Lady Gaga, and earned a reputation as the fashion world’s enfant terrible for his unconventional runway shows and unpredictable temper. The service yesterday was as much fashion show as memorial, with mourners decked out in fashionable black ensembles, many wearing outfits McQueen himself had designed.
