A new poll says the Conservatives would win an election if it were called today.
After a handful of controversies saw the Tories’ 11-point lead evaporate over the summer it now appears the governing party has regained a slim lead over the Liberals, according to a poll commissioned by the CBC. The Conservatives are sitting at 32.4 per cent support, with the Liberals close behind at 28.9 per cent. Most of the Conservatives’ gains appear to have come in Atlantic Canada and Québec. At 16.6 per cent the NDP has widened its lead over the Green Party, who are only 6 points behind the NDP but have yet to win a seat in the House of Commons.
